Line Dancing for Beginners/Intermediates Weekly lessons every Tuesday afternoon, 2-4 in the Salle de Fetes, at Les Alleuds. Classes are informal and fun. No silly hats or daft boots neeeded. Just a sense of humour and a bit of energy.
'Open Door' provides support for people suffering from the effects of long term illness as well as their carers. Our drop in centre at 18 rue Pierre Pestureau, 86400, Civray is open each Wednesday morning between 10am and midday.
The Open Door PALS Support Network has counselors and active listeners in the four departments of the Poitou-Charentes that deal with problems relating to Bereavement, Family Crises, Addiction and Isolation. The 24 hour PALS Answerphone service is available on 05 49 87 97 36
The Open Door Open Book lending library of English books is open at each Wednesday between 1400 - 1700hrs and Friday mornings 1000 - 1200hrs.
The Get Together Group consists of mainly British people who have made their home in the Department of Deux Sevres and the adjoining Departments. Other members include French, Dutch and Germans. Our primary function is to assist new residents make the adjustment to their new environment.
By means of meetings and social events members can make new friends and gather information on such diverse subjects as - who can help me complete a French Tax Declaration, how can I register at the Social Security, or who can give me French lessons. The group has recognition by the Prefecture and has full insurance covering all its activities.
Regular events include morning walks followed by a communal meal in a local café or restaurant, an afternoon book club/social gathering. Quizzes, music evenings, golf competitions, outings to places of interest are organised by members on an ad hoc basis.
Les Amis Solitaires (LAS) is a social club, open to all people of any nationality who are single at the time of joining. The club provides a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded people and to make new friends generally. It is not a dating agency. We meet 3 or 4 times a month for lunch, walks and other outings and general friendships.

Description: We are an association consisting of a choir and a drama group. We are open to all nationalities. The choir meets at 1.50pm on Wednesday afternoons behind the Mairie in Civray and sings a wide variety of music.
The drama group follows at 4pm.
