Open door (La Porte Ouverte) Association Our purpose is to provide support and counselling within Poitou-Charentes for people suffering from the effects of long term illness, family crises, bereavement, addiction or loneliness. Why not drop-In? On Wednesdays between 10.00 and 12.00 we have a ‘drop in’ morning at our centre. If you need a listening ear or just a chat, want to meet up with others or just sit and have a coffee in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere then come along. Some of our activities include: PALS Support Network We have a network of volunteers who are trained counsellors or skilled listeners who are there to respond to your particular needs especially if you need help with bereavement, family crises, addiction, loneliness or isolation. Bosom Buddies This is a breast cancer support group which meets on the 2nd Monday of each month. Library We have a well-stocked lending library of English books, videos and DVDs. Opening hours are Wednesdays from 10.00 – 12.00 and 2.00 – 5.00 and Fridays from 10.00 – 12.00. Monthly Lunchbunch The bunch meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 12.00, you can get a hot lunch at a cool price! Everyone welcome, it’s first come first served so get in quick. Although most of our activities are based at our centre, Open Door in Civray, volunteers are in all regions of Poitou-Charentes.
